Innovation Direct™ Looks Ahead To 2012 International Home and Housewares Show…

Always an extremely productive and fruitful event, this year’s edition of the International Home and Housewares Show holds the promise of being better than ever. For the first time in its history, the proceedings will span 4 days at the McCormick Place in Chicago, Illinois, beginning on Saturday, March 10th and concluding on Tuesday, March 13th!

As per the official show website, www.housewares.org, the event will be divided into 4 major categories: Clean, Contain + Sustain, Dine + Design, Discover Design, and Wired + Well. An area featuring exhibitors from all over the international landscape, Global Crossroads, will also be a part of the 2012 edition. The official estimates from the show organizers reveal that approximately 60,000 attendees, 2,000 exhibitors, and over 20,000 buyers from 100 continents will descend upon the McCormick Place over the 4 day period this year.

Innovation Direct™ receives response from Kohler Company regarding patented bathroom product…

Hello, Juan C. Blanco, Innovation Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in once again with an update regarding a patented bathroom product from our roster. Earlier Friday, Innovation Direct™ received correspondence from industry leader Kohler Company in response to materials that they had recently been provided about the invention. Kohler sent a detailed overview of their invention disclosure procedures, a document that once signed will initiate the company’s review of the invention information received.

Considering its position and market share in a number of industries, Innovation Direct™ is very much looking forward to having Kohler review all of the available details on the invention, including its utility patent. As described, the invention allows its users to pre-set the toilet to only utilize the amount of water needed to complete a flush. In this manner, it will save its users considerable amount of money in water consumption bills by regulating the degree to which water is utilized accurately and efficiently. Through its proprietary features, it will also help prevent the water damage that typically results from leaks with standard toilet operations.

Blanco, Innovation Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in an update regarding the SHOT Show 2012, the leading event of the shooting, hunting, and outdoor industry that wraps up today in Las Vegas at the Sands Expo and Convention Center. Our trade show staff reported earlier that the event was even more expansive than last year, and that the show’s law enforcement and security products portion has grown larger than ever before.

Of particular note in this year’s proceedings was a rather large proliferation of companies manufacturing and marketing camping products and accessories. Additionally, the always popular areas of hunting, fishing, and firearms were strongly represented as well. Our staff additionally noted that in their conversations and networking efforts with various exhibitors, many were receptive to reviewing new product information from the Innovation Direct™ roster going forward.

Blanco, Innovation Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, checking in with an update regarding the dynamic SEMA and AAPEX shows, currently taking place concurrently in Las Vegas, Nevada. We are pleased to report that our trade show staff has reported that there has been a significant increase in attendance at both events as compared to last year, certainly an encouraging sign that new products in the multi-billion dollar automotive industry are in high demand.

As customary, our staff has been networking with exhibitors and confirming their willingness to review new products and patents on an ongoing basis through our Innovation Direct To Industry™ program. One manufacturer in particular, a California-based outfit that currently fabricates, markets, and distributes a wide variety of products in multiple segments within the automotive market, enthusiastically expressed a desire to review and evaluate items in several categories for potential licensing.

Blanco, Innovation Direct™’s Director of Product Licensing, chiming in with an update regarding the final stop on what has been a very successful 2011 trade show itinerary, the SEMA (Specialty Equipment Manufacturer’s Association) and AAPEX (Automotive Aftermarket Products Expo) shows. As customary, the 2011 editions of these events are shaping up to be considerably extensive in scope and Innovation Direct™ is looking forward to being an active participant in both shows. SEMA, with its usual complement of the leading automobile manufacturers in the world, will run from November 1-4 at the Las Vegas Convention Center; AAPEX, meanwhile, will once again feature the leading makers of automotive aftermarket products, a $395 billion global marketplace, and will take place November 1-3 at the Sands Exhibition Center.

The SEMA Show, always large in scale and scope, is expected to attract more than 100,000 industry leaders from more than 100 countries in the automotive, truck and SUV, powersports, and RV markets.
